Located in the heart of Harrisburg’s historic Old Midtown district, The Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center (H·MAC) is a multi–venue arts and entertainment complex like no other. H•MAC offers three distinct venue spaces with different capacities and amenities that make every live performance unique. H•MAC focuses on being an approachable venue that, instead of joining a huge line to get into your show, you can join us inside to eat, drink or play some pool and just hang out comfortably before a show. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
The Capitol Room
The heart of the H·MAC project is the building’s turn of the century art deco ballroom, rechristened as The Capitol Room. The venue’s current configuration and capacity of 1500 makes it an ideal and unique space to see big acts in an intimate venue. With its vaulted ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and VIP mezzanine, the Capitol Room is the only venue of its kind in the region.
The Stage on Herr
The first of the venues to open to the public, The Stage on Herr is a 350 capacity nightclub and gallery space that was opened in 2007. The Stage on Herr runs a diverse program of well-known and up-and-coming bands, DJ events, theatrical productions, and spoken word events, and is the only stage in the region to host no fewer than four separate members of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The Kitchen & Gallery Bar
The Kitchen & Gallery Bar featuring Zachary’s BBQ is a 150 seat restaurant and bar, serving up authentic soul & comfort food with favorites like pulled barbecue chicken, Carolina pulled pork, St. Louis ribs and Angus beef brisket — all made with house-recipe rubs and sauces.
The Gallery Bar is furnished and decorated with a number of unique reclaimed materials, and offers regularly rotating shows of local and regional artists.
