The Skatalites and The Main Street Sweep are taking the stage on Stage on Herr this Thursday at 8:30 PM. The Skatalites began performing in Jamaica in 1964. They were the top musicians on the island at the time. Enjoy their infectious ska/reggae-like rhythm. Hugely popular groups like The Police, The Clash, The Specials, The English Beat, Sublime and No Doubt, all have their roots firmly planted in the music of the Skatalites. Rock out to the American groove/sludge metal band from New Orleans, Louisiana- Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals as they unite with Housecore labelmates King Parrot. Their tour “Choosing Mental Illness US Tour” will feature songs from their newly released album “Choosing Mental Illness as a Virtue. The album was based off one of Anselmo’s favorite films about the harshness of mental illness and getting up close and personal with it.
